For those lookin for alternative and cheap shocks for the front of our lifted K trucks, I have found that the stock rear shocks from 99 - present GM truck shocks are 26.20in ext length and use the same bushing mounts and bolts.
They are the same length as the shocks used in the BDS 6" lift kit so should work good for a 4" lift.

Main reason behind me looking it up was that I bought some factory Rancho shocks off a 2014 1500 Z71 for $50 bucks with 8k miles on them.

So 26" fully extended?

I've been meanin to look what's out there for shock options using "factory shocks".

Good to know.

99-05ish leaf spring front ford superduty front shocks work on around 4inch or so lifts front also on out trucks . 98% bolt on .

there is a writeup on here somewere . its monro shocks.

I did it on my k30 plow truck with 3"tuff country hd lift.

Yup 26.20 inches fully extended, same length used in 6 inch lift. A 4 inch lift calls for a 23 inch ext shock but it would be nice to have the extra length for droop.
