99 sub tranny kaboom?

Went to put the truck in reverse today and it made a kinda gear in gear out metallic sound. Drove home and truck apparently doesnt have either second or od. Am i screwed? My wife wants me too sell it but it just hit 100k and is really clean. Help!

Yep, overhaul time. You broke the sun shell. It happens with 4l60e transmissions sometimes. Sometimes you can get lucky picking up a cheap transmission on craigslist or something if you are able to swap it out yourself. Your interchange will be 97-present.
