Friend of mine is trying to install a 2002 8.1 into his 99 2500 suburban (also 454) that blew up. Says the heads among other things are different. What would he need to do/mod/buy to make the newer engine work? Would the existing computer and harness work? Or would it be cheaper to rebuild the 99 engine?
