Got a '99 Chevy Suburban that started spuddering on my wife tonight. Then after she parked it and left it for about 8 hours, got in it to leave where she was at and it would not start. Would turn over fine but would not start....like it was something with gas. Then a couple of guys bang on the fuel tank and one tried to start it and it cranked. Well she drove about 2 hours home and as she was coming down to a stop sign it started spuddering again and then cut off. And now will not start again. Any idea!!!! Could it be the fuel pump...how can you tell if it is a fuel problem at all?

Sounds like the fuel pump is dying. Try listening for it ... disconnect the gas line and see if it's pumping it to the motor.

Better yet, get a manual for the vehicle and go through the steps, that way it's explained a lot better.
