Nice to see an update of sorts Mike. Seems congratulations are due on a few fronts. You finally unloaded the Servpro albatross, and you're gonna be a grand pappy. :waytogo:

Don't be such a stranger...

yeah seems we all miss our Speedhole Mike updates...congrats brother, and on to bigger and better things!

Thanks Guys, on the Grandpappy type stuff. Tell you guys the truth, I'm pretty excited.

It seems that everything is back to normal around these parts. The going away/baby shower happened last weekend and was nice. It was a real push to get everything done in time.

What's that old saying..... A mechanics car never runs and a carpenters house is never finished?

Well, it was like a mini house renovation last week before the party. A little drywall patching from some past dogs and a fishtank, led into a full interior paint after texture and new base and case (not finished all the way) throughout the house.

I'm pretty sure there was still wet paint on the walls when the first guest showed up. :eek1: :haha:

Anyways, that leads us up to this weekend.

Sorry, I don't have a lot to show, but I did get out there yesterday to see what was what. I pretty much new that more mounts were in store for me, so I started with #2 mount behind the front seats. I thought it would be faster, but of course, the first ones (#1) were going to be the easiest.

Turns out the frame starts to go up at that mount. So the simple 90* plate was not going to work. I made these up to follow the curve up.

I really thought that I'd be out there today so I didn't take many pics yesterday, but they are all drilled and in place and fit perfect. I'll get more pics later this week. :waytogo:

First things first...... the garage wanted a little blood as a sacrifice to the fab gods..

Once that was out of the way, the gods let me finish these. :thumb:

Once those were all in place I moved on to the gusset hangers.

This is where we need to talk about my nickname...... :haha: You guys would get a lot more if we changed it to no hole flat plate Mike...:waytogo:

Anyways, this is where I left off last night.

It's all ready for assembly, minus the front and top, which shouldn't take too long.

I gotta tell you guys, I wanted to head back out all day today, but didn't. It's pretty much all that I thought about today..... I think that the bug has bitten me once again. :wink1:

and a parting shot for Greg.......

Yes, that's 76 with the doors open. :saweet:

I should hopefully have these done this week and be moving onto the next ones on Saturday. That one should be fun.... the original just went off the top of the frame, as the front rear spring hanger is right there. Going to think about that one a little bit.

How about some more Speeeeed holes? :D

Did a nice push yesterday out in the shop. Finished cleaning up the first set of mounts and made the seconds. Everything is ready for a nice burn in today. :woot: I'll probably weld in a small backbone to the second ones too. :thumb:

Hopefully, I can get to the third set, at least come up with a plan for it. The third set has the spring bracket directly in the way of making a plate of sorts.

Pics.. :waytogo:

Snazzy..... :waytogo:

Sunny and 42 degrees today. Zero percent chance of snow.

Not sure that translates into any kind of progress for me on my own junk, but it does make me feel happier. :)

Aren't you glad you listened to Eric now!

Looks way cooler and you got a new nickname!

Nice job! :waytogo:

If I admitted that about Eric, it would be giving him credit twice in this thread.....

So, No. :haha:

The nickname is growing on me now. I just wish it came with a new drill press. My old one smoked the motor yesterday. It's been time for awhile.

And thanks for the props, Deaner. :pimp:

Thanks Greg.:waytogo:

I tell Ya, I sure do miss you as my weekend build partner. I've resorted to running man point contests on FB to keep me pushing along throughout the day. It sure would be easier if we could go back to the old way of doing things. :thumb:

No speed hole maker!?? :eek1:

Now what! Get after your vibrations on the Dodge?

I have to feel sorry for Greg! No Mercedes and all that snow on the ground! :doah:

WOW:eek1: Sorry I kinda lost track when the thread got moved into the Garage. I have been lurking. Slow and steady wins the race and all that custom work puts my silly truck to shame. I can't wait for the day when we all can get them together. I'm especially digging the bumpers. wish those were on some sort of cad or tube bender program so we all could have bumper bumpers
