Mike on the bend where the tube curves around the side of the fender.

That's going to be the weakest and most often disturbed area.

Your stuff is tight enough to the body I'd seriously think about it.

So, Greg called me out on a simple, one on one MPS yesterday. It was a good day of really just pushing each other. He ended up with a some kitchen framing done with a couple of headers that needed to be replaced and I finished the passenger side fender.

It’s nice to see what it will look like now that both sides are completely finished and I can see my overall clearance. I’ll probably do some more metal work to the tubes to gain just a bit more then close them up and add something to stiffen it up like Eric mentioned.

I want to get everything set in the rig again today to check on my panel gaps first, tho. Then possibly move onto welding the tabs on to the 60 for my front shocks, installing the steering wheel and finally my new Borgerson shaft to make sure it clears the inner well on that side.

It’s more pics of the same, same.... but it is progress. :)

I did grab a quick 50 Points from Greg as he figured I’d have at least 10 wire Whiskers sticking through on the inside. Pfffff.... easy money. :pimp:

You do sick work boss

+10 on black coffee
+20 if it was bourbon

Thanks Captain. I’m just glad they’re done.

I’ll take the 10 for the black coffee. :)
Not counting Vodka, I’ve drank hard liquor maybe 10 times in my life. It comes back up just as fast as I pour it down. Sometimes faster. Lol

These days I’m sure I’d do the same lol

But i can also say that about my sheet metal skills. Kinda pukey. Nice work

On point. I always appreciate your blending skills. That’s half the process, and ultimately what folks see.

I only have one concern, and I'm certain I'm not the only that has thought of this. It really comes down to whether or not you are going to wheel this truck. I was never super hardcore with my k5's but still managed to mangle a certain amount of sheet metal along the way. I smashed a front fender bad enough to warrant a replacement once, and that meant redoing some tedious edge work along the trimmed portion behind the wheel. Not 1/10th as intricate and time consuming as your front fenders, and I said F it. Trimmed where it needed trimming, and just didn't repeat the fancy BS.

So...mall or crawl?

Thanks Brother. It really just comes down to time and six different Roloc grits/pads in 2 and 3” sizes. Probably a tad bit of the finish carpenter OCD, too. Lol

Am I going to purposely go out and try to hit every tree and rock? The answer to that would be a no. But, I'm not afraid of it either. Shit is going to happen and it will be repaired accordingly.

While this rig is still in my garage, I am going to try and do what I do on every single one of my jobs. Throw as much craftsmanship as I can at the project, or at least finish it to the best of my abilities.

Well the next one won't take nearly as long!

Amen...

It's all good, and I'm enjoying the process a ton. I just always tried to shy away from labor intensive sheet metal mods I know I wouldn't want to do more than once. I'd build a bumper around the sheet metal, or remove a section of sheet metal all based on "what if I need to replace this at some point?"

That's what makes these truck so individual, is the personality and brains behind the build decisions. For me it was chop the fang...have a beer.

We need a beater first gen for @NorCal69 to get some seat time.
You know, like a burner blazer

I have the other 69 that we have beat the shit out of sitting next to the garage. It’s a good rig that needs a lot of love.

Trying to be a little more respectful to this one in the garage. Besides, if I would have started hacking shit this far into the build I would have never heard the end of it.

That’s why you need a burner

That looks awesome!

Side note, Greg that was mean and I am offended. I feel as if I should be entitled to grievance and rewarded in stacks of cash from you to mend the hurt feels.
