Looking good man!!! That looks really nice, have you hung it to see it around the tire? What size tires/lift will you be running? Keep it up:waytogo:

Have not hung it yet, but I figure it will at least give me the 3 1/2" I cut off. I plan on running the 39.5x16.5x16 Pitbull Rockers. With the 6" lift and the 1" BL, I think that I'll be ok. I have zero rates under a pile of stuff too, if I end up needing them.

Running low on the build fund at the moment, so trying to do what I can for now. Having two companies, one making the money and paying it to the other company to keep the doors open has left me with empty pockets.

Once I do get some extra cash, it will go for a bender, tires and Lizard skin. That should keep me busy for some time.

I'm running 39.5's also. Sounds like we'll have a pretty similar setup. I hear you about the funds (although I have no companies, just a dumb job with Fedex til we move but it's paying for my truck parts!!!).

Awesome looking build, gonna stick with the orange color when you paint it or something different?

Thanks Andrew, It was cool having a couple of beers with you today while I was in town. :waytogo:

As far as the color, I have been all over the map with just about every single one. I think that I have picked it out though. I need to get a little advise from Ryoken first, as I really think that I want to spray the rig in the garage.

It was fun, and I finally got to meet another CK5er. Thanks again for the beers man:waytogo:

I think that color would look sweet, orange is an awesome color on that body style.

Yep, that's the one. I have had thr second pic in that link hanging next to my desk for over a year now.

I always end up back to that color.

I'm driving through Utah now, heading back home. My wife said my 105 bender showed up yesterday. Can't wait to open boxes tonight. :D

Great work on the rust repair and everything else. Its lookin sweet:thumb:

Thanks Guys :waytogo:

Heading to Home Depot in a bit to get some concrete and J-bolts for the new bender.

I want to pick up some wood round stock used for handrails too. I think that I could mock up some of the cage (angles and lengths) with it without destroying too much tube learning how to use the bender.:dunno:

New tools are cool.. :D

Print out the "tube bending 101" tech article from Pirate if you haven't already.

That's a good one for starting out...and will save you some tube. The only other trick is to under-bend your tube, test fit...then reinsert and bend a little more. Once the tube is over-bent the party is over.

No matter how good you are, there will be mistakes. You can usually recycle those tubes as gussets or small spreader bars or seat rails.

Thanks Greg, that article will come in handy.:waytogo:

Not much progress on the rig lately. I ended up going completely overboard on the bender mount though. I think when it's all said and done it will be about 2.5 yrd's of concrete holding it down. The plan is to pour the entire area in. I have never been able to grow anything in that area, so more driveway it is. I'll mount the bender with some j-bolts with a footing somewhere close to the garage.

As for chalet's question on that roll bar in Z's thread. You would not want it. There was some kind of ugly repair dead center at the top of the hoop.

But, If your really interested in one, I do have a Smittybuilt (I think that's what it is) original that I was going to use. No need for it anymore though. I picked it up for $100.00. I'll sell it for the same if you want it.

Here is the only pic to show you the type it is that I have on the computer. At the moment it's been blasted and is sitting in green up in the shed.

Let me know.

Great color! that's what I sprayed. Looks amazing in the sun.

Any updates Mike?

A little. I've been sick the last two weeks and just can't shake the damn thing. Starting to feel a bit better this week though.

I did rent a skid steer and manage to totally mess up my yard a couple of weekends ago. Remember this all started in doing a simple footing for the bender. :doah:Now I have two slabs, about 100' of fence with tree gates and of course my footing for the bender to do now. :haha:

As Greg would put it.....

Squirrel...

I did pick up my complete doubler and I had then change the output shaft on my Th400 last week. Ran up and talked to Jessie and he has my E brake and a couple of other thing ready.

So I'm getting closer to having all of my super huge $ components (Engine, transmission and doubler). Still have a big list too go though. Been watching Zimmer's thread  on the finishing touches that he has had to do. It just doesn't give me a lot of hope for even next summer. We'll see I guess. :dunno:

It would be nice to spend the upcoming weekend in the garage, but I don't think it will happen. I know that I need to spend some time in the yard, as I'm sure my neighbors are asking WTF is going on over there. :pimp:

So, I'm pushing forward. Just not a lot of time in the garage lately.

Thanks for asking though..:waytogo:

Well, I said hell with the neighbors and the yard this weekend and did some garage time. :pimp:

Saturday was spent just cleaning and putting stuff away in the garage. It's amazing how fast I can destroy that area and still try to work in it. Saturday night I just sat in a lawn chair at the end of the garage, drinking some beer thinking of what I was going to tackle on Sunday. Never came up with anything that night.

Sunday I woke up ready to tear into this thing for the first time in what felt like forever. Got into the garage and still didn't know what way to go. So finally I had to concede that the big C-list score back a couple months ago was a failure. The fenders just wouldn't work and it was time to say the same thing about the doors. All in all, I ended up spending $550.00 on a Painless wiring system. :doah:

Took off the LMC pass door and shoved it aside. Went to my growing parts pile and found an old pick-up door. Washed about 2 pounds of mud from the inside of it and had a good look. There was not really any rust to speak of, just two small dents and two long creases across the top. I think that I can beat most of it out. Cleaned up the exterior of the door and hung it. Would you believe it, if I told ya that an original style door fit like it should? :eek1: Some days I wish I had never heard of LMC replacement panels.

That's enough rambling for now, I guess. I will say that it felt good to get back to work on the old K5.

Not much as far as fun pic's, but progress is progress.

Not only did I not do the yard, but I brought this beauty home for my neighbors to look at for a couple of weeks. One of my out of town framers was staying at his in-laws for the past couple of months. Things were not working out and I had the space. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell my wife about our new lawn ornament until she got home form work. She was thrilled. :haha:
