I've always been pleased with Interstate batteries. Not sure how they compare pricewise though.

Hey Mike, looks real stout and well thought out for removal as well.

shoot me a PM if you have need any shots or info about the engine cage.

It seems to be working real good for me so far...I really like the shocks mounted to it also! maybe think about that.
As far as shock angle, I've heard 15* from verticle doesn't affect the shocks performance. outside of that may be detrimental to operation...or not, probably one of those things that can be debated to death depending on what shocks you choose!
Keep on it man, looking real good.
Oh and it was a balmy 73 in Silver Lake today!

Thanks Dave. I really appreciate the compliment and offer of some future help on the cage.

I did find this in Dennis's thread on Saturday about the shocks. Seems like it makes some sense. As close to the wheel as possible and 1-2* for every inch that you have of lift. This due to the cycle of the suspension.

That is not even funny. :doah: It just sucks around here right now. Tough to keep pushing forward.

Saturday a had to run around in the morning, by the time I wanted to get out to the garage it was too damn hot. Finally after sitting on the couch until 5 something, I had to go try it. Turned on the lights, fans, radio and such. Got the pass side slider on the workbench, and called it.

Sunday I started early and actually got something done. I have the pass side slider all welded up and sitting on some horses very close to it's spot. I gave it all I had and didn't have any more to bolt it up.

So, this week should be the slider bolt up and then move onto the doors. I want to get them made into blazer doors and hang them and the fenders before I make my tube from the dash bar to the firewall.

Well a couple of pics form the weekend.

Sunday I started adding a couple more tubes and welded it all up. Welds are starting to look a little better. At least to me..:thumb:Still have a rough time with the roundy round tubes, but I'll get there.

I am sooo going to put up a gigantic pic in a thread that says "Hey Z look at this!!" and then it will just be hello kitty or something. :haha::haha:

Hey Mike, really nice welds man....you do dam fine work man.

I can relate to the temps, we've had more 100 degree days this year than the last 20 put together....but I do have air in the shop, or I wouldn't get much done.

nicely done man...and to give credit where its due, my engine cage is Kerts design...I added the bars to the rad support, and did the hoops, but Kert did the basic engine design and execution.

That looks great! :waytogo:

You gotta weigh the truck after you are done. Talk about beef! :D

Whats the deal with the other 69/70 in the yard. :thumb:

lol, yeah, thats the ticket... me too. I'm making all of my mistakes on this one, so the NEXT one will be saaweeeet!

Thanks Man..:waytogo:

I'll sure as hell will weigh the pig when all done. Any guesses?

The other blazer is my buds 69. I neighbor wanted to sell it to me, but it would have cost me a divorce, I'm guessing..

So instead, I borrowed the money to my friend to buy it. :pimp: He has since payed me back and we have taken her on many trips so far. I figured that If I can't drive my 69 for some time, I sure as hell can drive his. :woot:

Parts truck: During start up of the 496 I did steal his rad cap, a spark plug wire for the coil and the oil screw thingie for the filter. It is nice having the same year truck to look at when yours is in a million pieces.

and you guys know that there is no way in hell, I'm starting another one after this. :shame:

At least for a couple of months after I get this one driving... :haha:
