I hear ya, Greg. It's a tough balance for sure.

That Hero day is prolly what has me down in the dumps. I pushed myself to get out there that weekend to mount it all up and I failed. At the end of a hero day, there is nothing like listing to some tunes, drinking a beer, completely satisfied with your accomplishments for the day. Those times are what get you back in the shop the next day. Kinda like hitting that one golf shot during a round. You end up hitting a lot of shots that day, but it's the one prefect shot that you remember in the shower the next day that makes you want to go get some more.

I think the next thing that I really need to do is order some seats. I just can't figure out the color, style or fabric that I want. If I had those, it would push me from/through the front of the rig back to the middle. This front end is getting pretty old so far.

Catch 22 on the seats though.... I have spent all of my build cash on things that go bang and pop lately that there is just no cash for them. Hopefully within the next 30 days I'll be done with the front, seats picked out and ordered, listening to some tunes while drinking a beer dreaming of doing wheelies in the rig once again.

That is really funny.... I almost used the golf analogy in my response but wasn't sure anyone would relate.

I play golf usually ONCE per year at a rediculously expensive, company-sponsored event. Gorgeous course, pretty girls driving snack carts, perfect weather (usually)etc. Over the span of the entire 18 holes I usually hit one REALLY nice shot..... feels great coming off the club, flies nice and straight and carries right down the center of the fairway.

In that moment I understand why people love golf.

But just like golf (and hero days)... finishing the round requires me to hit all those other lousy, grass-clod flying, arm-breaking, ball-losing, hook/slice/wormburner shots as well (necessary evil days).

Guess it would have been a good analogy after all!!

I love golf. I'm up and down as for how well I play, but usually I can keep a cool temper and have a great time no matter how I played. We definitely should hook up sometime and play a round.

We all can relate, days where nothing goes right are always frustrating and de-motivational, but you just have to keep on truckin through them for those days where the planets aline and everything slides together perfectly

I thought that was in the rule book. I've never kept score once in my life. Normally can't read or write by the time I'm coming into the 18th.

I bought a sweet set of Ping white dots 6 months before I took the rig apart. Played three times. Now they sit in my closet gathering dust. Just tough to justify a good weekend day not working on the rig.

Dreaming of doing wheelies in the rig once again.

My rig has been "Running" for 3 years now and I still have not got that wheelie. My strategy was to do at least 30 minuets a day. So some days just going to the hardware store to buy bolts was all I got done , but I had them when I got back to the grind. Sometimes 30min turned into a couple hours. Seemed I could trick my self into 30min, Hell that's only one crappy sitcom that I had already seen but needed to watch.

I don't think that I've ever pulled a Hero day without a lot of prep work through the week to make it happen. Bolts, gas, wire, metal, Roloc's, Grinding disks, cut-off disks, beer.. blah, blah. All of that needs to be in the garage on that Saturday or Sunday morning when you start. Running around getting stuff for a Hero day doesn't generally happen on the Hero day. At least not too much in my world.

I just wanted to say I'm still watching your work, your doing a good job and I don't have a lot of time so I just keep watching and don't say much. I look forward to more progress, keep it up.

All good my Man. I haven't had a lot of time out there myself. BBall is the name of the game now. I suck at it, but my sons turning out to be pretty good at it. Just this last weekend they had another tourney and lost the last game to get knocked down to second. Their still 14-1 for the season and he brought home the All tourney MVP. Beats cutting metal any day when your boy does that.

I did work on it for a bit Sunday night. I ended up with crappy pics that I wasn't going to post until now. It was really dark, but you can get an idea of what way I'm heading.

Thanks Dean.. The MVP thing sure was cool. I was worried that it would go to his head and have a "not so good game" the next day, Tuesday. Well, it went to his head alright. Ended up with 7 threes during that game with a total of 25 points. Half of the teams points. Another tourney this weekend, so hopefully the kick some arse again.

The front bumper (original looking) should be cool on the old rig. It should help with approach angles too.

Thank you, Sir. Glad that you liked the build so far. I always get a little nervous with a pro stopping by my build to see what is going on. Pretty cool that you approve so far. If ya did see anything that might bite me down the road, speak up please.

Hopefully I can get another Sunday in the garage again this weekend. I'd really like to have this front end close to all being done soon.

Not a lot of progress on the rig lately. Between BBall for the kid and generally life, just not a ton of time.

Last weekend was the guys 4 day snow camping trip. Had a blast with lots of guns and a couple of drinks throughout the weekend.

I did make it out into the garage last night to finish cutting and drilling the holes for the front recov points. Should be a good weekend of fine tuning those with a lot of welding and some massaging to make them look all nice.

and last night, filling the gap with some metal to keep the shackles nice and tight. I'll end up with one piece of flat stock wrapping the entire recov point that will tie all of the pieces together. Hopefully I can make them all pretty and get the winch and front bumper on and done this weekend.
