That is now one of the main reasons that I am going to pack up the truck and head on up..

I want to listen to a drunk Dean kickin' that accent all night. lol

The rig will be at BB some year. I keep saying next year.... Tho, I'm finally at the point that I just want to beat Greg there by one year.

Not much of a push, is it.... :doah:  :haha:

2014 Mike....keep kicking it! Looking great man!

I'm there! You can put my ass to work man, both drinking neers and manual labor!

I'd love to be able to make it to bb with mine next year too, just don't see it in the cards this year unfortunately...

Way to kick ol' Greg squarely in the stones... I thought we were friends. :D

2014 is fine for you guys with your hyper-sonic builds. :haha: Mark my words though, BB is not the kind of thing you will only do once. By the 2018 event (50th Anniversary of the Blazer) I can guarantee that you will be jonsesing for those trails again...

I've been three times already and it's nowhere near enough.

C'mon man. You know that were friends. :waytogo: Who else would give ya kitchen remodeling help while they're in court. :D

Think of that statement more of a subconscious motivational post. :pimp:

Not in the gym trainer way (obviously :doah:), but in a motivational speaker way. :thumb:

Our builds are pretty close to even as far as getting done. Minus, the whole transformer thing that you have going on.

If I can make this happen, I know that you could blow right past me, and get your rig done.

So, see you in 2014?

Not likely......but I might running before Dec 31, 2014 at midnight.

I took this past Monday off from work, and did a marathon 3-day house project. Pulled down the waterstained dining room ceiling, found out it had never been strapped (explains the constant cracking at the joints!).... strapped it, leveled it with my rotary laser (144+ intersections brought to within +/- 1/8" of each other) and hung new sheetrock. Then, rolled out the new acoustic underlayment and nailed down the prefinished Brazillian cherry floors to match the rest of the downstairs.

I'm hiring out the tape and mud work. I'll lay down a couple layers of rosen paper so they don't ruin all my hard work on the floors.

The point of all this (is there a point?) is that I'm getting awfully close to running out of home improvement projects.... and since I've always had to juggle house & truck stuff at the same time, I have no clear idea how much faster things might end up going when I only have a truck build with my free time.

Yeah, I kinda figured. But is was worth a try. :wink1:

Nice work on the lid. Glad that you are feeling better.

Since you mentioned strapping, I have a couple winner pics from a house fire that I ended up with late last week. I was down in the crawl with the engineer yesterday and found this. Needless to say, she is coming down to grade and a new home built.

The fire

and the crawl. Can you say lack of strapping.

:haha::haha::haha::haha:

running out of home improvement projects... HA! as long as the house is still standing, there is always more! :doah:

Probably should have put the word "major" in there somewhere...

New roof - DONE
New Kitchen - DONE
New Backyard - DONE
New Windows - DONE
New Flooring Upstairs and Downstairs - DONE
New MBR Walk-In Closet - DONE
New Driveway - DONE

The stuff that's left feels like "mice nuts" type issues...

Dam Greg, I won't even recognize the house on my next trip though.

Mike, I agree with Greg about driving Moab....its addictive, I would love to go every year, but the $2K gas bill makes me think otherwise....this year that $$$$ is going into the FI and fuel system, but next year I'll be up for it!

You forgot about the kickass handrail that you built. :waytogo:

Your list kinda makes me sad and glad.

Sad that I have not done a ton to the home and it needs a good amount of work.

Glad the my wife has not seen your list. She does live with a carpenter after all. :doah:

What's that old saying... A mechanics car never runs right and a carpenters house is never done..

Yep, I fall directly into that one.

I hear ya, Dave. 2014 it shall be..:woot:

Well, two days in the garage actually produced a little something this weekend. Still working on the front winch area, that includes the front recovery points, shackle hangers, engine cross member, bumper attachment, core support and the front cage tie in. Kinda a lot of stuff in such a small area, but it seems to all be coming together finally.

Some pics of how it's all coming together so far.

Wrapped the recovery point sammich with one more piece to tie that all together.

A look at how the bumper will look with the full wrap. The bumper still needs to be cut a little more, but I need to wait until I fab up the attachment points first before I go overboard.

Then I started to chop up the winch plate.

Bent it up, added a little dimple die goodness and added the sides so I could get the second bolts in.

and that's where I ran out of time. Would have loved to move forward and cut up the bottom of those pieces to start to figure out the shape down there, but I really need to figure out what I'm doing with the handle, I have it facing down down now.... I need to have Ryoken move forward on his to give me some ideas. :D

I've always wanted something hidden or detachable handle that came through the front grill. I'm thinking of doing that with a compressor coupling so I don't have to open the hood to air back up. I think a winch handle could be made to do something similar.

I was thinking the same thing until I had seen Paul had already done it. In all reality, I'd like to make it come back to inside the cab. I was looking at it last night and I might have a path that would end up just on the side of the tranny hump.

It would have to pass right through the headers though. :doah:

One night this week I'll spend some time laying on my back taking a look at it. :waytogo:
