Hey fellas,

Been working on the rig here and there when I have time. Now that it’s cooler out, it’s so much more enjoyable out there.

So here is kinda a pic dump to where I’m at. I got the heater installed. I’m going to make another faceplate for it so it blows pretty much strait up with two tubes. After that I’ve been working on the anti-wrap bar. I got it all welded up today, except for the axle stuff. I was going to pull the axle and do my final welds on the perches, anti brace and shock mounts, but it just got too late. Everything is in place to pull it, so hopefully I can get it all buttoned up this week.

Here’s some pics.. :)

Lol. It matches the body mounts that took me three months to build. It should look pretty cool from the rear angle.

Hopefully some better pics when it’s all in and painted later this week.

I concur...and I think Mike could have been a welder in another life, seems to have a natural feel for it IMO.

Thanks Boss. Pretty big compliment coming from you. Honestly though, it all depends on my eyes being able to see the bead. I actually got a little angry about it a couple of days ago and made an eye doc appointment. Hopefully some adult big boy glasses will help. These readers are just making my eyes tired.

Yep.

You can almost FEEL the heat pouring off that long, steady weld and right inside the welding gloves..... and maybe even smell the Dykem burning off as well!!

Yep, my rusty ass only had to throw the glove off once this weekend. It’s weird, once you feel your fingers get hot........they only get hotter as you go. Lol

It's great to see you back working on the blazer again. I love the quality and detail of the stuff you build.

Thanks Ash. It’s so much more fun now. It was raining outside while I played inside with the garage door open. Great day. Hopefully some better pics soon.

That one is cool, I mean they're all good...but this is the one that generally separates the men from the boys in my experience.

It's the constant adjustment needed for gun angle and position that makes those so tough. It's just so easy to lose 'edge reference', or have the travel speed vary a ton as you're rotating etc. Just a real bear usually...so much so that there are all sort of companies that make rotators so those types of welds can be done semi-automatically.

Lol... A carpenter has to get lucky sometime?? ;) Thanks Rene.:waytogo: We’ll need to catch up again sometime soon. Been a couple of months since you talked my ear off. :D :haha:

I need a better cell plan, we got rid of our landline, and the unlimited North American long distance...

Mike great work as usual...just curious why the additional heim on the traction bar? I assume just "bologna slicing" it would be too easy?

Kerts kit:

For easy install was kinda what Eric and I came up with. When I originally got the kit, they sent me the wrong spacers which really threw me for a loop. I called up E and sent him some pics just to get a second opinion. I almost just sliced it like yours just to get done with it, but a ran out of time, so I had Ruffstuff just send me the correct stuff, because widening the bracket was not the best answer. It was too big for the lower 2” after.
