As soon as Joe hopped up there and said I have an idea, I instantly thought of the pic that you and Deaner took years back.
Years ago I cut a hole in the back wall (4"x11") and slid two 4x10x20' beams through it. Framed them up off the garage header and installed a 4x12 to catch the back end of the beams. I think there are pics way back on page one of this thread.
My driveway is far from flat. I need to hook up my tow bar to the frame and to my truck to pull it out. Without the truck hooked to it, the frame would be down the road somewhere before it stopped.
I was thinking of doing that with the tub on the cart. I was pretty skeptical of it ending up in my front yard. I had stickers every couple of feet just in case we lost it. It ended up being no big deal at all. The tires were a little over loaded so they squished down pretty good for a nice slow roll down the driveway from the garage.
There is a ton left to do, besides paint. A lot of my fabbed up hangers need to be drilled and bolted down from the top side, now that I can get to it. But really, there just isn't much fab work left. Probably a crazy amount of body work, but that's down the road still. I am really going to try and hit BB this year. 199 days left.
Thanks, David. I'm very happy that it's split in two now. It was kinda surprising to see how crappy everything looked once the tub was off. I know all of those pieces looked badass at one time when I fabbed them up and installed them. Now they're just a dirty rust color with a think coat of grinding dust.
It will be pretty fun to take it apart, blast everything clean again, prime and paint and store on the shelve until reconstruction begins again.

This reminds me of Blazer Bash 15 when Shawn and I thrashed to get my truck ready.

Thanks Man. We’ve had some fun in here over the years. I’ve been going through it while getting help from an unnamed somebody while adding an index to page one. It’s taken over a week, but there has been some good laughs along the way...
Ps..... That’s everyone’s que to go look at page one and the awesome index that was added this week. I’d really like to give thanks to the self proclaimed classified help on the index, but I don’t want him to get all Bent out of shape.

After a month of staring up at the exhaust, I think that I have a plan. I ordered a set of ball and socket flanges for the headers this week and finally mocked it up last night.
I didn't really know where to go before this. Had the builders blues and was pretty stuck. I even went to my favorite muffler shop looking for help. Brought the headers in and asked what they had for ideas. We went though some stuff and it basically came down to "You really need to get the rig here, so we can take a look at it".
As my brain was racing on how I could even get it out of the garage and on a trailer, he must have seen my face..
He asked where I lived and how long it would take to go home and install the headers again. I came back with "Not far, and about ten minutes"..
The owner came over to take a look. These guys build a lot of crawlers and I always see them up in the woods, snow wheelin' or whatever.
As he was laying under the rig in the garage, I realized after ten minutes of watching him, he had the same expressions that I make under there. Basically, "How in the hell is this going to work"...
All and all, It came down to cutting the ends off the new headers. Well, I finally sacked up last night and came up with this. I did have to run back up to the exhaust shop to have them swage the ends of the new 3" flange to fit over the ends of the headers that I just hacked off. They came out pretty cool.
Anyways it's all kinda mocked up and I think that I can get maybe another 2" of clearance for the driveshaft uptravel this weekend.
Here is what I came up with..
Not only did I move forward on the exhausts, but I picked up a different V-belt system at the pick and pull this week. I bought everything on the front of the engine so I could really see what it's gunna look like, including a smog pump....
I do believe this is a much better starting point than what I had on there before..
