Butt crack and sunglasses after dark?
Maybe no name is better.Butt crack and sunglasses after dark?

Right on Dean, I think we started a new club....let’s hi jack this thread in search of a name!

Wow. Big steps! How did you lift the body off inside?
I wish my driveway was flat. I'm stranded inside until it runs again.
Same with me, my driveway is so steep I have a winch mounted to the floor to pull in dead cars
So just paint left to do? So we might actually see another first gen on the road again?
I accept PayPal and cashiers checks.
Big milestone, and I’m excited for the next steps. It’s really neat to see all your clean work laid bare, and how neatly you’ve packaged these systems. Great stuff.
You’ve got some momentum!
David
It will be pretty fun to take it apart, blast everything clean again, prime and paint and store on the shelve until reconstruction begins again.
Maybe no name is better.

Well I don't handle bars.It was supposed to look like i was riding a motorcycle, but i guess it looked like i was humping it lol

You should have put something to help with the visual

Tuck your shirt in!I figured my body posture was enough of a clue but apparently nobody has any experience riding rockets![]()

I would like nothing better.Don’t let the mean people pick on you. You’re a nOOb here, but not a 1st gen nOOb.
Ps.... it’s your job to clean the back of my engine once I pull it now. Not sure if you got anything on it?![]()
He used my frame to C pillar tubes. Look close and you can see them.
I also might be interested in throwing this thing on your trailer if you were serious about bringing your big rig to BB. We’ll need to see how progress goes over the next couple of months, though.
I won these today. Paid too much, but was pretty excited for them to be NOS caps.

.Yeah I will be lucky if I can get it ready for the Rubicon trip.I might be interested in that but it’s gotta last through a lot of wheeling between now and BB.
I really enjoy watching this laid back build thread.

Mikey, do you remember who made these 2 bolt header sockets?A good night, a good night indeed....
After a month of staring up at the exhaust, I think that I have a plan. I ordered a set of ball and socket flanges for the headers this week and finally mocked it up last night.
I didn't really know where to go before this. Had the builders blues and was pretty stuck. I even went to my favorite muffler shop looking for help. Brought the headers in and asked what they had for ideas. We went though some stuff and it basically came down to "You really need to get the rig here, so we can take a look at it".
As my brain was racing on how I could even get it out of the garage and on a trailer, he must have seen my face..
He asked where I lived and how long it would take to go home and install the headers again. I came back with "Not far, and about ten minutes"..
The owner came over to take a look. These guys build a lot of crawlers and I always see them up in the woods, snow wheelin' or whatever.
As he was laying under the rig in the garage, I realized after ten minutes of watching him, he had the same expressions that I make under there. Basically, "How in the hell is this going to work"...
All and all, It came down to cutting the ends off the new headers. Well, I finally sacked up last night and came up with this. I did have to run back up to the exhaust shop to have them swage the ends of the new 3" flange to fit over the ends of the headers that I just hacked off. They came out pretty cool.
Anyways it's all kinda mocked up and I think that I can get maybe another 2" of clearance for the driveshaft uptravel this weekend.
Here is what I came up with..

Not only did I move forward on the exhausts, but I picked up a different V-belt system at the pick and pull this week. I bought everything on the front of the engine so I could really see what it's gunna look like, including a smog pump....
I do believe this is a much better starting point than what I had on there before..
