How are we doin, Fellas? Everything is good here. Still pounding nails during the week and trying to get some Blazer time on the weekends.

Two weeks ago that all paid off with registration and insurance on a Friday afternoon. Ended up doing a little driving around the neighborhood..... and even made it to 7-11 with the rig finally that weekend. Lol

Still doing some small shakedown runs with not too much going wrong. An oil leak out the breather, power steering leak, but as far as driving, it’s pretty awesome.

I did a little run to Depo this morning and wanted to hit a road to see it above 55, looking for death wobble and seeing what RPM I’m running at that speed with the 4:10’s.

Ended up driving as smooth as could be at 65 mph, at about 2250 RPM. Beautiful one arm driving at that speed enjoying the full convertible at the same time.

After talking with Eric, it looks like we can step up to 4.88’s possibly. It’s not really lacking at the stop sign by any means, but we should probably change them only because of Racetruck. Lol

Anyways I’m still doing this and that with it. Hopefully she’ll be finished one day soon.... if that’s possible. But until then, I’m finally smiling and driving..... and causing the occasional whiplash to people I pass. :D

What sized are you Iroks? I have "36x13.50x16.5" (tire says 36 but they are damn near 37 = 36.8)
I'ma copy your sliders too.. currently I just have the 3x3 square and need to add the tubing :thumb:

Lol.... this is the 496 that Scott built way back for Greg’s burb. She moves pretty damn good. But...... I’m in.

Thanks for the props boys. It feels good.

Nice, when you slow down a little, you should make it this way.
I want a close-up

LOL Scott (4x4High) built my long block also.. this was 2005 ish... my memory doesn't work so well.. I have almost 3K miles on it now.. mostly off road or buying beer making noise in the neighborhood LOL

I run the same combo (only a little 461 though) on 39.5’s and 4.56’s and I think its a great setup. The doubler gives you pretty good crawl gear, and the 1:1 final drive in Hi/Hi is good for highway travel.

Eric said drive it around at about 2800 rpm to see how it feels and how loud it is. The 4.88 would be about that at 65. If it’s too much we can step it down to the 4.56.

I still need to do a little investigation on the carb. It’s stuttering at WO. I talked to Mark yesterday and he mentioned that I should make sure the secondaries are opening all the way on the quad. I want to pull a plug and see what that looks like too.

I’ll know more when I figure out the carb. It runs great, until I get too greedy. Lol

edit.... I have the same tire size as you, Dave.

Nice BBC specs!! I to have the 781's w/oversized valves but I went CompCams Extreme 4x4 Flat Tappet cam & rockers. Build was "continuous duty low end stump puller" Idle to 5K.

Shoot after 4600 RPM there is no more power to be made = all low end.
I wish I had your spec sheets but this is the dyno chart back when I got the BBC fired up. Old = before they tuned it up and new = after the dyno tune :
