No speed hole maker!?? :eek1:

I did end up picking up another drill press from Tractor Supply. It's basically a big POS, but will work until I have some cash in the tool fund again.

WOW:eek1: Sorry I kinda lost track when the thread got moved into the Garage. I have been lurking. Slow and steady wins the race and all that custom work puts my silly truck to shame. I can't wait for the day when we all can get them together. I'm especially digging the bumpers. wish those were on some sort of cad or tube bender program so we all could have bumper bumpers

Thanks Chris...:waytogo:

Lol at the bumper, bumpers. I called them skins till now. They have officially been renamed to....Bumper, Bumpers. :waytogo:

Sorry for the late response. For some reason I get about 1 out of 25 email notifications and this one never even showed up. I've tried to look into it, but still no worky. :dunno:

After all this Fixed MPS contest crap there better be some epic updates latter on!

Man, I didn't even place so don't be a hater......or, are ya just mad because I'm beautiful?? :D

Yep... Working on it, but it's kinda still lame with stupid body mounts.

Seconded.....

I got told to go back to the kitchen :doah::doah::doah:

JJ, told you that.. Look at the guy, he was hungry. Jeff was even called in to make him a sammich :pimp:

Mmmmm kabobs.:haha:

Sounds good...you cookin?

I totally skipped mowing the yard today for MPS.

And instead......... You did a smokey burn out in your 1st gen..... Hell with that lawn. :haha:

Yah you get negative points for mowing the yard.

I mowed mine on Friday, as I knew the comp was coming.... you should have been more prepared. :thumb: :D

Still working on the update, be back in a bit. :waytogo:

And the beginning of the second MPS was born.

Notice to all men that think they can lay down a bead. Tomorrow, starting at 8:00 pacific, running for 10 consecutive hours, we will be having our second Man Points Sunday...or "MPS™"

This isn't a day for the weak.....This is the day to bring out the inner Gladiator Fabricator that you might think you are. Leave your bird **** welds at home and put down the piece of unistrut your were going to install in your rig. This is a Mans day, for points! That could constist of chewing 1/4" plate with your teeth, leaving the bender in the corner and throwing the 1.75 DOM on your shoulders and bending it around your neck for that next cage piece. Bring what you got....You're going to need it.

In our first MPS™, Keith Gray took home the gold, while Jesse Ekquist made excuses and mowed his lawn, Randy Thurman barely found his sack and kept out of the Kotex aisle late that night. Blanchette was a complete no show.....(I'm thinking fetal position in a dark closet) while Aj Guidry couldn't post up the potential winning vid. Now, I can already start to hear the excuses from Ben Fyffe and Brian Swet that they need to hand out Kia parts or some **** on MPS™... that isn't going to get you the gold, ladies.Terrance Roberts, there will be no talk about smoking meat as it sounds kinda ghey on MPS™. :flipoff7: Rumor has it that Horton is home, so I expect a showing of the cookie monster, Eric Westover...speaking of cookies, I expect Joe Rollins to be having the muchies and do another no show. The one guy that could easily take this from all of us, so Joe, roll up another one and let us have our day. lol David Zimmerman, Cummins pics could get you some points, especially if the vette is in the pics, but that is in all fairness, cheating. Paul Frank should be home now in Texas while Paul Randolph bends pop cans abound 10" logs. Skinny Cole Martin should be done with the wiring in his dad's rig, so he better think of something new to bring to the table. This should be interesting.

So, in short, rest up ladies, as we will all meet on the sands tomorrow to spill blood and talk ****.

Copied from my FB page... I thought it might need to go into the build thread. :waytogo:

I think all you guys lose at least 3 points for even using facebook. And if you think you can switch to Instagram or snapchat, you might as well hand in your man card right now.

Man, I'm thinking if they are too often, they will get old and lose the real purpose of the comp..

Getting chit done on our rigs..

After years on long builds, you start to make excuses some times for not putting in the hours that are needed. We're all not Ryoken, ya know. Lol

It's really up to you guys, though. I just don't want it to get old and burnt out....like our builds at time. :dunno:

Totally missed MPS, cuz me and Nick spent 20 friggen hours this weekend doin the lift on his cool '90. Not a shred of irony there...

Eh, I like FB with the guys. A little faster speed with the slams if you will. :haha:

Look at it this way.... It got AJ to finally do a burn out. :pimp:

We're still friends on FB. I'll drop ya a PM next time before the comp so you can dust off the "F" and "B" key on your keyboard. :pimp:

You might have done that in 15 hours, if you knew there were actual Man Points you could have earned. :D

Woulda definitely busted out the 20 lb sledge for the steering arm much earlier...:haha:

All I can say is :haha:!!!

That is such a great idea to get everyone motivated. :waytogo:

It's fun to read all the replys! Good on everyone getting out there a getting **** done!

So a little catch up on the pics. Nothing really fun, as I'm still working on the body mounts. But, I am getting closer to the last ones. I still need to finish up these (#3) mount. They are still a little uneven on the top where the shim is going to go, for my liking. I'll take them apart one last time, grind down the high side, install the top again and make the front with some more speeeeed holes.

I really can't wait to make it to the c pillar as I think that will end up being some kind of tube mount going from the frame up to the cage plate with the mount (moved from original) somewhere in the middle. Then I can finally get back to my back Bumper, Bumper. lol

These ended up being a real pain due to the frame incline over the rear axle and the placement of the rear, front shackle hanger.

Here you can see the angle is off by a bit, but the angle of the pic makes it look like a mile.

And I did get a little dirty on MPS, despite the trash JJ was talking. :pimp:

And I guess, I only have one pic, but I did get the first 4 all welded up in my prep for MPS...

Wait...did I just say that? :D :haha:

That's was the idea, myself included. :waytogo:

Some of the replies are pretty golden. Nothing like throwing Randy in there for some laughs. :haha:

I think we had over 250 in the two posts...good stuff. :thumb:

So, how about a fun post instead of those damn body mounts. :waytogo:

Last week my neighbor was cleaning out his property and had an old lumber rack that would fit the Dodge. I bought some heavy cut media, brought it home and got out the little sand blaster. After figuring out that just blasting the the lumber rack that had some deep rust in the scratches, would have taken me a week and a ton of media, not to mention the required Neers, I made a call to a friend.

This is my bud who, way back on page one of this thread, blasted the frame on the Blazer. I haven't been over there in some time since his dad past, so I was pretty excited to hit the back yard again. Although, he has sold off probably 50 vehicles since his dad past, it was still pretty cool to head over there to use his big blaster.

This week prior he stopped by to see what I needed done. Well, the more I thought about it, the more I needed done. :haha:

Thursday morning I loaded up the flat bed with the rack and a ton of crap that needed blasting. Engine cage, rear seat mounts, winch mount, bumpers and whatnot. I headed off to work to finish a drywall job that I knew was a half day gig. I ended up at his place around 1:00, where I had found out that he had already started.

Anyways, how bout a pic fest of some old iron....:thumb:

This is what I seen walking up to the blasting area.

While he was blasting, Gordon and I did a little walking around and I took some pics for you guys.

To be continued. :D

How about a 5 gallon bucket challenge?

Another one...

I guess the front axle and cab are in the crates next to this frame..

My favorite..

Got a little tired of walking around, so we sat down on the Mule for awhile. :D

And got everything home last night.

And started to turn the world green..

Leaving just an ugly rack painted in every spare can of crap primer I had left in the garage last night. No green was going to be wasted on this baby. :haha:

And the hood that needs to be DA'ed first before prime.

Maybe this weekend, while working on those body mounts, I can figure out the rest of this puzzle I made for myself too.

That's it from yesterday, but it was a big boost in what I needed to push forward this weekend.

As Paul put it to me on the phone last week, "You have 12-14 more hours of suck left on the body mounts, push through and get them done, so you"ll be done"

It makes sense, and I do appreciate the pep talk, Paul. :waytogo:

More later this weekend.

god I love walking through old vehicle yards like that! Color me jealous.

Looking forward to seeing something besides body mounts soon. :)
