that sucks bro, but look on the bright side... that gives the rest of us time to catch up! lol

Maybe if he blows out the other knee too, and both elbows! :doah:

Hurricane Sandy can blow me.

Thanks.... I never did look for the glass half full answer to this yet... :haha:

How did you manage that? Rest up and get healthy then hit it hard again! Hopefully it starts feeling better soon bud.

Don't really know. I was helping put the top on the other blazer and all felt fine. About an hour later I was walking around the garage and boom. Like all of my injuries in the past, I think that it will go away in ten minutes if I just push it harder... not this time. She looks like a pumpkin every time i push it. :doah:

Did we have a little manspace coupon time planned for this weekend?

Look at the bright side, maybe no manspace time, but your roof shouldn't leak..

Doesn't help does it...:haha:

We are pretty likely to see about 50MPH winds from hurricane Sandy by Tuesday. If previous storms are any indication, we will probably lose a few trees and electrical power. So today is really all about getting ready.... Clean up the yard debris from the roof project (roof is 100% finished now!) throw a few pieces of Tyvek up where they removed clapboards for step flashing... Put the glass panels into the 3-season porch so that water doesn't get blown in and flood everything, and put all the patio furniture away so it doesn't get donated to the neighbors down the street! :)

If the power gets knocked out there won't be much to do except play in the garage.... I'll just have to do it by candlelight! LOL

Yep, the prep work for one of those kinda sucks. Been through a couple when I lived in FL. That included the full board up of all the windows and such on both.

Stow your stuff and keep safe. :waytogo:

Hopefully no damage to you and yours and we get candle lit build update too... :D

Ahhh....Romantic...... :haha:

Rig is bad ass, and absolutely love the color it's going to be. :waytogo:

Thanks Rob. Your compliments and comments are pretty huge to me. :waytogo:

Not a lot of progress this last weekend. Really shouldn't have stayed out there as long as I did on Sat. with my bum knee. Trust me, I unfortunately payed for it on Sunday.

I finished up the through tubes while adding a cage disco in the middle. This now lets me take the entire cage out, back and future front.

I then bent up one of the cage tubes. Still don't know if I like the angle down on it yet. I did kinda figure out that for me to push forward, I need to get the winch between the frame rails. I'd like to do the behind the bumper like VT did his. Still don't know what winch yet. It looks like I have about 24 1/2" to play with.

Not much, but a couple pics

And the best thing that happened over the weekend. My daughter driving to work for the first time. :pimp:

Nice to see it was out of the garage for a wee spell. I just spent 20 min checking out those front wheel wells(from farther than 2'). I really really need to do that, and those came out so good. Sorry to hear about the knee. Pains and aches and body carnage sounds like my life story. Front grill like a Prius. More like "The Anti Prius"

Hey Mike, things are looking great...scary having the daughter driving isn't it???

The HOK stuff is simply amazing...I had so much potential for screwing up my bike it was intimidating, but I read a lot on their website, and talked with the tech's about 2 hours, made a list of how to do the sequence from start to finish, and ratios for each stage along the way, when to spray, when to tack, when to wipe with Degreaser etc....and my results came out pretty dam good (don't take my word for it, as others have said so as well !!!) Is your compressor setup for painting? What kind of "booth" do you have available? What kind of gun?
Also was wondering with the engine cage, do you have room for a PS pump to go on the engine with that cage bar where it is?

Looking good as usual bud! Hopefully the knee starts cooperating soon and you can get back up to speed.

You're not kidding, Chris. It was great to get it of the garage for some time. I too, spent a lot of time checking out the wells. It sure was nice getting to look at the entire side at one time. I think that those cuts that I made, will come out real nice. Just need to get done with all of the cage stuff, so I can give a little more love to them, when I move back onto the body stuff again.

Do ya have that list handy???:D You're paint came out great

As far as the gun I have Devilbiss GTI with fancy paint. I'm thinkin' the fancy paint should totally help me with a bada$$ paint job on my rig. :haha:

this should help with the HOK paint too...:woot:

The cage is just kinda sitting there now. The pic might be a little off, but I have tons of room on the side. I need to run it way up in front of the front crossmember though. On the pass side I can't land it on the frame do to the lower rad hose. That's why I'm thinking of building the winch and the lower mounting point all in one.

I might paint it at my house or build a room in one of the shops here at the office. I'm thinking at the home though. I have enough lumber laying around that I could build a 20x20 with a gable roof in a Sat morning with one of my framers.

And yes, pretty spooky with her driving. Still can't believe that she is that old. I really like that pic of her, with the big smile.

She was pretty excited when I pulled over on the side of the road and walked (hobbled) over to the pass door to get in. She digs the rig, unfortunately it's kinda a dirtymax right now, though.

Mike that gun looks very similar to my Devilbiss....it worked great I thought, but I'm no expert like Paul...I followed the HOK directions on the tech sheets and listened intently to what Jeff at HOK had to say....here is the list, but mine was 3 colors with taping and Kandy to boot:

That's really cool, Dave. It gives me a good idea of what kind of "cheat sheet" that I'm gonna need. Thanks...:waytogo:

So, I can't sit inside and just watch it all on TV, I have the computer out in the garage, getting the report out here. Took a couple of pics, of the front again.

All in all, it's a good night of making my way around the rig, lookin' at it and coming up with some good thoughts.

Here are those pics..

Where I want the winch..

This should move off the frame to a "structure" around the front of the CM/ winch area, and still be removable.

Seems to be working out nicely...Looks great! :thumb:

BTW how old do you have to be to get a learners driving license there?
In Alberta you can still get one at 14. My twins are 11..only 3 more years.:eek1:

Dean, don't quote me, but I believe that it is 15. You need to drive with the permit for 6 months though before you get your lic. That is after you complete 3 driving lessons with an instructor.

That one sure is nice to look at...almost a shame to hide it behind a bumper. The price you found is good for a 1200 pound warn. :thumb:

Awesome stuff Mike. I'm constantly amazed at the work some of you guys on this site do on a daily basis. I'm going to be lucky if I can do half the things you do and I can only hope my Blazer is still in one piece by the time it's done.

Thanks Brian... :waytogo:

I wouldn't worry about help getting your rig back together if you dive deep into it some time. The guys on this forum will always help you put her back together..

There would be no way that I could have come this far in putting it back together with out the guys. Although, there would have been no way that I would have taken it apart this far with out the guys cheering me on, too. :doah:

Remember, misery loves company....

So, when ya taking it apart... :haha: :D

Well, I've got a week and a half off from school coming up and I'm going to need to do something to keep me busy.... :D
