Nice to see the blue sharpie still has some juice left in it.

Lol, I had to rummage through the house to find a new crisp tip blue sharpie for this weekend. At one time, I swear there were 200 of those things floating around between the house, garage, vehicles, washing machine and so on. I need to pick up a couple more boxes this week if Greg pushes for a rematch. :D

Glad to see progress again!

Thank you, Sir. Been awhile... life got in the way there for awhile, but now I got the bug back. :waytogo:

Man, I must have looked at this thread a hundred times. Being a n00b, i thought it was dead.

Really glad to see it active again!

Hopefully you got something out of this thread if you looked at it hundreds of times. The preferred thing that should stick is.....if you stop by the house, bring Bud Light. :haha:

Thank you, tho. :thumb:

Sho has been a while. Nice to see you back at it!

I looked back and it looked like it was an 8 month vacation. It was cool though. Did a ton a wood projects while I had the garage open.

Believe me tho, it's nice to be back.

Gotta give some props to Greg for kicking me into gear again. He has been a great friend through all of this. :saweet:
No matter how much shit it may appear that I give his OCD ass. :haha:

The blazer has been back home for awhile now, but honestly I was a little scared to work on it. There has been so much, IMHO cool fab, that I didn't want to just start throwing crap work at it. I think the hidden winch handle thingie came out pretty cool. At least it was a good start to get me rolling again. :pimp:

My statement was more metaphorical meaning that you are the blue sharpie and you still have some fabbin juice left.

But the big question is who won the exclusive 1st gen MPS??

Did you have more juice than the other guys??

Not entirely sure why I'm being overlooked here.... Unless corvette work doesn't count.

Dammit.

What's your beef now? :dunno:

No photos submitted yesterday... just your word about a fuel line and blah, blah.... then when I talked to you on the phone, you were watching Game of Thrones. WTH :flipoff7:

I'll give ya second place if it will stop your bitchen. It sounds like you used more tools (variety) than Greg did anyways.

Deal? :wink1:

What makes you think the rules are fair....or even consistently applied? :haha:

MPS is fun because no matter what you do, the winner is always a surprise. Mostly a function of how many empty cans of Bud Light are laying around when the scores are tallied.

Made a little Sunday progress finishing up the hidden winch handle. All that is really left is the need to do just a small amount of cutting on the grill. I knew I had to do some, as the grill actually sits just behind and below the stock bumper skin. I figured I'd leave the final tune till I line up the fenders a little better and also probably do it in the morning. Not something I wanted to tackle at the end of the day, as those things are a stupid amount of money.

Anyways, here we go.

Started with taking out the winch cradle. I had to make the hole slightly larger for the handle to come through, as I was adding a little width to the sides when I welded everything up.

And a small vid of it working.

On to the rear bumper next to get that thing finalized.

Nice work that thing is slick! Also glad to see I'm not the only one that listens to "old man music" as my coworker calls it.

Same tunes would be rocking in my garage.

That's insanely awesome Mike

The level of insanity to retain a stock bumper and put an insanely strong tube structure behind it and then this?!!!

Yah I dig it

Spent some time last night, filling the box up. It actually gave me a chance to look at a lot of my tools in one place. :o It's nice to go through a drawer and find something. Also, now I can look at getting some better tools and filling it up properly.

I did come home to these tonight. :smile1: Pretty excited to finally start to mock up the front end. First, I need to see where something is off on the front end area. I can't find it with a tape or level, but I know it's there somewhere. I can see something with my eyes that just doesn't look right yet.

Hey have you messed with your shocks at all? I just picked up 2 sets of these and don't know much about them. What valving are yours set up for?

Hmmm...obligatory blue sharpie cameo.
All is well

I still need to pick up some more. Down to one and with my luck, I'll prolbably end up welding that to the bench or some shit, just because it's my only one left.

Thanks Brother. Always appreciate your feedback. Like I told you on the phone......I wasn't sure If I was being genius, or just strait dumb by building this. lol

Just for mock up so far. I got them through Chris at ORD. I'd need to go back and see, but IIRC they were the strongest valve setting from the factory, Whatever that number is, I can't remember off hand. I'll look though. ;)

Hmmm, for some reason your build dropped off my watch list.
Anyway, I love it. Turned out slick. Glad to see you back in the shop.
What's up next?
