One of my last issues with the truck is replacing the parking brake cables. I got the 55-in front cable and the 85-in rear cable on the passenger side. The passenger side cable is short about 6 and 1/2 in from reaching the coupler. I saw on RockAuto that they have a longer passenger side rear cable but it's about 20 in longer which is too much and there's also a longer front one for the crew cab version but it is also not the correct length. I'm not sure what I'm missing here. The mounting point on the front cab mount bracket has a hole for the brake cable to attach to. If I do not attach it through that hole I'm only about an inch short. However it does need to be in a hole to secure it. Am I missing something?

The rear line is drooping in the picture only because it's not attached to anything.

Is the brake pedal released all the way?
Is the adjustment all the way out?

Pedal is 100% out.

The long adjustable bolt in the equalizer only has about 2" of runout left...not enough to make the gap.

Just saw in an LMC diagram that the GMT400 had a separate bracket for the forward cable to attach to instead of the attachment hole in the Forward cab mount. Image attached...

You can see the cable mount as part of the cab mount on my frame in the above photos.

If I were to use a bracket like that I could gain an additional 4 in to help make up the 6-in gap. I could probably tweak the back cables for an additional inch or two.

Has anyone seen a GMT400 frame with that separate bracket as shown in the LMC diagram?

Does anybody have a photo of their frame with that bracket with a measurement of the space between that bracket and the forward cab mount?
