NorCal69 submitted a new Build:

A '69 Build... "PICS: My Curvy New Backside..!!"

Well fellas, I figured that I would start my build thread now that I have the first new panel in.:D

I started out not wanting to change the one owner rig to much. After all it was in great shape, little to no rust, as the owner stated.

During my clean up of the rig, I kinda got deeper and deeper and deeper.

This is what I have now. I am going to attach all of the pics first, then go back and edit. Enjoy.

Had to move it outside by mounting it to the Dmax. Slope of the driveway would have had it down the street.

The beginning of sanblasting the tub in the garage. This is something that I'll never do again in the garage. :doah:

that's what I like to see, someone who doesn't go overboard! :D

how ya liking that zinc chromate? :wink1:

Overboard?:dunno:

This is how I thought it was done.:doah::haha:

Honestly, I have no clue what I am doing. If it were not for you and the other great build threads on CK5, I would be totally lost. Well, even more lost.

As far as the zinc chromate, Aka "Ryoken Green", the stuff is awesome. I told my kids that it was the final color. They said it is going to look like a big frog.:p:

YJ,

Thanks for the complement,

Front is a stock length 6" Alcan spring.
Back is a DIY shackle flip with stock length 4" ORD springs.

When I finally get the tub back down on a 1" BL, I will see if I can use a zero rate front and back. I think that it will look good with a 7"-8" lift.

Thanks again,

Mike

:waytogo:Nice! You are very ambitious!!

I wish I would have pulled the body on mine.

Here is to four months since my last update, sorry guys.

I have been trying to get into the my garage as much as possible, but that little thing called life keeps getting in the way.:p:

First off I would like to say that rust repair is not that fun. It has been a cool experience though, figuring that I have really never used a welder before this.

Well to give back for my sandbagging on the posts, I will fill the next six posts with pics of the progress.

I still can't figure out how to comment in between each pic so I apologize beforehand.
