ok, first of all, im pretty set on doing a shackle flip in the rear.

what should i do for the front?

whats the deal with 52 and 56 inch springs?

should i get extended brake lines?

how about steering?

i dont really have a limit on cash, but i dont want to spend an insane amount .

Also, im just going to be driving this on the street mostly, what kind of tire setup for the money is the best? i was kinda thinkin BFG AT's.

thanks in advance

Casey

I've been happy with the two different sets of front springs I have used from Tuff Country, 4" and 6". I would recommend them. If you go with 4" springs you can probably relocate your front brake lines and use your existing rubber brake lines. For a 6" you probably will need to use new longer rubber brake lines. For either lift you will need to address your steering. What year will this lift go on? For a 68 with a stock closed knuckle Dana 44 you will need an adjustable drop drag link to fix your steering. For a later open knuckle Dana 44 you can use a raised steering arm.

Generaly a 4" lift does not require driveshaft modifications.

35" tires will work fine for street driving with a 4" lift but a 6" lift is usually recommended if your going to be off-roading and don't want to cut your fenders.

If your just going to be enjoying the truck on the street I wouldn't bother with the 56" springs, the 52" springs will treat you just fine. Course now that I say that, do a measurement and see what your current front spring lift is. Seems I recall reading that the 67-68 front springs were a different length and that caused someone some problems previously when they were buying front springs.

Whatever tire you go with, be sure to rotate them frequently.

wow, you know your stuff... its a 71, and to measure my (I assume front?) springs just go from eye to eye? loaded or unloaded?

Thanks, but there are lots around me that know a whole bunch more. And just to prove it, ah, I'm not sure if you should be loaded when you take the measurement but, yes, it is measured center of eye to center of eye.

my front springs are only 44" from eye to eye... wtf?
