A/C air vent doesn't blow hard

Ok I decided to help you guys out and call in my gm parts guy. He faxed me the parts breakdown and the item you want is part # 3018715 comes in pack of 5 so have your dealer check to see if they have or any other dealer that would sell you one. Or buy a pack of 5 @ only around $1.50 ea. Called a diverter valve link connector ....... . STICKY PLEASE ..... This takes work to be this good :wink1:

Although I see it more often on tractors than on trucks, if everything is working normally, but you're still not getting a lot of air, look at the evaporator. Evaporators sweat during operation and there's no filter to keep outside air from blowing dust all over it. You may just need to clean the evaporator.

These trucks never blew air thru any of the vents very hard, certainly no where near has much flow as a newer car. It does help to have everything working in the heater box though. But it will never blow as hard as a new car. Remember,......this is all 1973 technology. At best.

I remember our 1979 blowing lots of cold air.

I remember our 1977 chevy 1.2 ton silverado (that I drive extensively in high school) blowing cold air.

I ordered the parts form GMpartsdirect today. 5 of them.

Is there anything else I should order & replace while I have the dash open?

HEATER CORE !!!!! And you might make sure it looks like the internall plastic baffle is ok and moving good. I also recommend you check all you vacuum pods to make sure they are holding vacuum and some new foam tape when you put it back together. Brian
