A/c blend door ... Is this right?

I am trying to replace the blend door clip and cannot get the pin out of the hole. What is the trick? Is this even the right pin? It looks like a small nail of sorts...

Use a pair of channelocks. One jaw on the point of the rivet, the other beside the head of the rivet, squeeze. Put in with one jaw on the head of the rivet, the other on beside the point of the rivet.

Did you get it off? I just used wire cutters to cut the plastic.

Oh yeah, just used pliers to push the pin out, then put it back in to the new one. Was a little tight fit, so I thought it was stuck at first, but it worked fine.
