A/C, Charged or not Charged?

My ac compressor is froze up and I have no interest or money to fix it so I was wondering how to tell if there was any freon still in the system. I want to take out the compressor and all the lines to help open up my engine compartment. There is a thing that looks like a tire valve stem on one of the lines. If there is no pressure in that, is there none in the system? Thanks

one bolt in the back of the compressor. undo it and see if it starts seeping out.

if it does tale it to a removal center
