When I bought my 88 Blazer, the previous owner said he replaced the A/C compressor and it worked for about 20 minutes and then ceased up. It's still mounted but he removed the belt. It looks to use the V-belt style, and the accessory pullies all look like they're V-belt as well.

Every site I look at wants to sell me a compressor with a flat ribbed belt as a 'fit', and they all claim the V-belt doesn't fit.

On Rock Auto, I have the option for an LTR4 Compressor that appears to have the proper pully with the V-belt. It has 2 options. 9:00 and 12:00 coil.

Is this what I'm after?

Thanks in advance!

If yours is still old school v belt, they are available. The reason the compressor ceased is it was not oiled correctly. You should at this point, replace he compressor, orifice and dryer. the col rotation is not that big of a deal.

Just the compressor.

Complete kit.

There is a Rockauto discount code in the "vendor" section of this forum.

Thanks for the great info and the links. I went ahead and ordered the full combo.

I appreciate it!

Your '88 still used V belts. Your Blazer is a V series truck.

An '88 C/K truck used a serpentine belt.

When they say 9.:00 O-clock or 12:00 O-clock coil I believe they are talking about the clock position of the power wire connector. When you buy a V-belt compressor you will get by default the properly clocked power wire connector position.
