Looking for recommendations on ac compressors . The previous owner had a ac delco compressor installed and changed everything to 134a . All was good then starts rattling really bad and has no pressure . My question is go back with new ac delco again or a reman unit. I keep getting mixed answers and it's getting that time of year to get this fixed.

Tons of good info here, as well as compressor conversion kits.

Sanden or Sanyo 508 or 510 compressors are far superior to delco crap in my opinion.

508 / 510 stands for 5 cylinder radial - 8 or 10 cubic inch.

I bet there is an auto air dealer in your area that can point you in the right direction,,, A/C is a tricky thing to tackle yourself if you have never done it before... It not as simple as bolting on a new comp and filling up the system.

I mean you can,,,, but the chance of it failing again is extremely high if you don't properly clean the system and do all of the other checks that help the new compressor live..
