Installed an A/C delete kit on my '74. Uses a fiberglass box to replace the old evap box and seal up the heater core area. My truck had a DIY box installed prior to my ownership. It worked, but had multiple gaps and sucked engine heat instead of from the cowl vent.
I Maintained my relay and blower resistor so I still have a multiple speed fan and air recirculation mode is always on. Now to buy some wire loom and organize the wiring better.
Overall it's a nicely built box and very thick.
