Anyone ever been able to disconnect the rear a/c lines at the rear corner of the truck? I'm guessing they are always welded solid and the tubes get damaged every time. Mine was replaced by a previous owner, but has a hole in it. I managed to score one from a junkyard, but then screwed it up trying to get the fitting loose. Are replacements available? Would it be better to just have new ones made with rubber running the length of the truck?

I scored an HR-6 compressor and brackets from the junkyard and replaced the rear TXV. I could not remove the orifice tube because it is in the evaporator line pretty deep and the line is bent? Also tried to replace the accumulator/drier with a new one from Napa, but the J-tube was too long to connect to my lines without making new ones. I really need A/C for an upcoming trip to NM and West Texas with my wife and three daughters, but am starting to wonder if its worth all the trouble?

Will JB Quick Weld hold for a patch? I mixed some up and applied it being careful not to force it into the small hole in the line. Then I wrapped a layer of electrical tape over it to help form it and put a hose clamp over it. Just curious if the pressure would blow it out or if it might be ok? I should know after putting the first can of refrigerant in, that is how I found the leak to begin with!
