On my '75 blazer blower motor/AC housing there is a metal relay looking thing attached. I can't find my chilton manual for some reason so I don't know what it is called. I need to replace it and I can't find my darn Chilton manual. Anyone know what it is called?

Here is my issue for those more interested: This is to resolve a blower motor fails to work issue. I've got power coming into that metal relay looking thing on a big (about 12awg) orange wire, but no power comes out on the big (about 12awg) green wire going to the blower motor. The blower motor runs fine when hooked directly to bat positive. Y'know I just realized that if this is a relay then I would need to check that it is getting power from the blower motor speed control switch telling it when to close the circuit. Well I have no darn manual to check wiring diagrams. That ain't gonna last, I'll be for sure picking up another manual when I go buy a replacement metal relay looking thing. Which of course means I'll have two manuals once I find the one that is MIA. One for the truck one for the house!

Maybe it is a relay with resistors inside to facilitate the separate blower motor speeds...Damn I wish I could find my wiring diagrams!

On the earlier models, the fan switch seems to always go bad. You might just try pulling that and seeing if it still works?

If what you are referring to in on the top of the A/C suitcase box, then you are correct, it is a set of resistors (coils IIRC). I can see where one might fail, but all three is pretty doubtful.

The relay only closes when the switch selects MAX speed. For the other speed settings, the switch routes power through the resistors mounted inside the blower box.

Thanks for the info guys! The chilton manual at my local auto shop is pretty lame, not nearly the amount of info/pictures that is in the one that I own and cannot find. Does anyone have a manual suggestions?
