Hey Guys,

I'm swapping the remains of the stock AC setup out for a stock non AC heater core and box and blower. The AC blower setup under the hood is quite large compared to the non AC blower. My question is, is the whole on the firewall between the blower and the heater box inside smaller on the non AC setup and therefore require some patching?

Maybe if anyone has a picture of there firewall without the blower/box on it we can compare since no one person may have experience with both the AC and non AC setup?

Edit: sorry were dealing with an 81-87 bodystyle, Thanks!

yes, it will need a rectangular patch.

Here is a crappy picture where you can see the patch I riveted and sealed in back when I did my AC delete a few years before I had a welder. It's the only picture I have of it. The patch is probably about 8 - 10 inches tall. The patch will require two holes for the heater core hoses, and two holes for the blower mount shroud studs, which are all located when you mount the heater box to the inside of the firewall.

And don't worry, I topped off my brake fluid, that picture was right after I bled the last caliper.
