Charged my A/C this weekend with about 39OZ of R134a. ANymore than 39OZ and the high pressure side would exceed 250 PSI. ANy less than 39OZ and the vent temps would increase.
In cab temps we pretty good.
Driving 65 MPH and being 103 degrees outside the vent temp was 59 degrees.
Driving at 65 MPH and being 82 degrees at night the vent temp was 49 degrees.

I still have the old tube and fin type condensor installed. I think i am going to put in a stacked plate type condensor this weekend and see how much lower the vent temp will get.

If anyone else has any ideas lets hear them. Every single degree drop makes a difference.

BTW, I just put in a new compressor, suction/discharge lines, orifice tube, and accumulator/dryer.

I wonder if the temps should be colder out of the vent with the setup I have now?

By design the system is supposed to provide about 20* of cooling between outside and inside temps. The bar type condensor will help some, but it sounds like your vent temps are already below system design.
