I have a 87 K5 that the compressor went out last year on and plan on upgrading to serp belt swap and doing newer compressor.

Curious what lines to use since serpentine system came off a 94 C1500? What about dryer also? Guessing use the orifice tube that goes with the lines that I get correct?

Heard alot about but no 100% answer on which condenser to use to use but would like to update.

Thanks to any members that can shed some light would like ac to work so wife and kids would ride in truck.

Use the 1995 to 99 serp setup, better ac and alternator choices. That is what I am using.

Most replacement condensers are upgraded for use with newer refrigerants. There are a variety of lines available that should fit either driver or passenger location, or go to a shop and have some made.

I used the stock dryer and evaporator. The new AC Delco condenser was the new type designed (parallel) for 134. Made my own new hoses.

I would supply pics, it all apart right now. Not a good excuse. I do have more plumming as I have rear air in my Blazer.

Rear air, that's badass!

It's the rear air system for the Suburban and a rear heater too. The rear heater is a great rear window defogger. The rear air is mounted to the top in the same area it would be in a Suburban. The cover is off as is the rear headliner. Will try to post a shot of it in the next few days.

cool! I salvaged the rear air from my old beater burb. gonna put it in the one I'm driving now.

Hopefully you salvaged all the tubing, hoses, metal tubing, wiring, switch and all mounting hardware.:coolblue:

Do yourself a huge favor and upgrade your condenser to a parallel flow. It'll pull more heat out of your refrigerant thereby bringing your vent temps down more too. Trust me, it's time and money well spent.

yes I did! I do need 2 new long lines to the back, I wrung them off trying o undo them. There are rubber replacement hoses available.

I even got a 2 switch bezel so the blower switch & rear window switch will look factory.

All plumbing from the front air to the rear air is done with hose and not hard line.
