Okay so I am thinking about going A/C delete in the Blazer. It hasn't worked since I bought it and honestly I haven't missed it that much. I never had one in the Jeep and other than that I rode a Motorcycle full time.

My question is whether or not it would be worth while to save it or not. I would like to free up some space underhood and free up some pulley power.

Also heater is busted. Not sure if I want to fix it or go heaterless and put something like a mojave heater.

Ideas?

Its getting kind of cold here. LOL

I took my a/c out , as well. Never gonna put the top back on so what's
the point? It did free up a good deal of under hood space that I really like. The coil box was huge. As far as the heater goes, I've been looking at the Mojave unit. I saved everything pertaining to the a/c and heater, just for the heck of it, but doubt I'll change my mind about the a/c. It would be nice to hear from someone who has used the Mojave heaters.
To answer your question....yeah, I'd save it because if you ever want to put the a/c back in, it will save you a bunch of headaches trying to piece it all back together from a junkyard or donor truck.

If its still got gas, you have to take it to an AC shop where they can remove and recover the Freon, otherwise Al Gore turns into an Ozone hole....

But seriously, after you get the parts out, if you ever plan on selling them or using them again, you Must hook all the lines back up and either pull a vacuum on them or purge them with dry Nitrogen and leave them pressurized slightly.
Otherwise moisture will get in, and do bad things. Such as cause corrosion inside the aluminum coils.
Not to mention dirt and insects.
Properly sealed, the parts should stay good for years. Not sealed, in a moist environment they can go bad in a day or so.

Good info to know. Mine is bone dry. Had a hole in it when I bought it. I knew it was going to be almost a total replacement to get it going again. :eek1:
