A couple quick tire questions

I'm running super swampers 37x12.50x17. What do you guys think is the optimal tire pressure to run these at? Doing mainly street and highway driving.

I know higher pressure, could possibly give a slight increase in fuel mileage, but also a higher pressure can wear out the center treads quicker.

Second question is:
I have these tires mounted on H2 hummer rims that are 17x8.5 I believe, what would be the lowest tire pressure I could run these off road or in the snow, and still feel somewhat safe that the tire won't come off the rim?

Thanks for the advice ;)

hay buddy long time no talk.

my old 1ton mud truck had 38x12.50x16.5 tsl on it. i found 25 psi for best ride/wear on the use of them.

as you have 17" you can air down a lot for off road. 16.5 i couldnt as no safty beads on the rim.

The best way to determine optimum tire pressure is to wet the tire tread then drive over a piece of paper and look at the contact pattern, add or subtract air as needed until the whole tire tread makes contact. This will give you the best wear/mileage out of the tire.

As for wheeling offroad i have dropped down to as low as 12psi on my 315/75/16 BFG mud tires mounted on a 16" x 8" wheel.
