OK, I like the long rear spring idea for my 1970 K5, but not sure if I want the flip shakle thing. I was wondering if anyone had just bought 4 inch lifted rear springs for a newer truck and put those on. It may have no real advantage, but it was one of those things I came up with while trying to fall asleep and could not get it off my mind.

Rear springs on a 1st Gen are the same length as the later Blazers.....you can swap to your hearts content. :usaflag:

longer springs and shackle flips are pretty much always better. The added bonus is that you can use stock springs and save $$$$. My rig has stock 52s front and rear right now... going to stock 56s in the rear soon. Good pairs of stock springs are very common, inexpensive and flex very well, tough to beat that.

I was thinking of something in the 63-64 inch range, but that might be a little on the long side to stuff under there. Greg, is ORD the only company that makes flip shackles for a first gen K5.

64s will work fine, you just have to move the stock forward spring hanger.
