A few Electrical Questions.

Ok so My new Chiltons manual wont be here till sat or mon.

So Im not sure whats going on under here next to the Fuse block.

Big question is the Passenger side Marker light and Turn Signal are not working. Changed the Bulbs and traced the wire back to the headlights... All Are intact.

Any Ideas?

Its an 81 Blazer. Cruise Control.

Whats with the Pink and Black wire with the Funky Plug:

How about this orange one:

Any ideas on these The Gray one heads toward the rear of the cab under the Carpet:

This many Blank Spots normal:



Thanks for the help. Ill be tracing out all of it once i have a manual, just trying to mainly figure out the turn signal now.

Well after ripping out most of my 85's cruse control wiring i think i can ID this stuff:

Pink: cruse control or possibly audio power of some kind. does the cruse control work ok? i'd say it comes from the throttle or brake pedal switch.

orange: definitely interior lighting. dome, rear cap dome, dash lights, and cig lighter. also used in the door switches that activate all the interior lights.

gray: audio. not sure if there were stock speakers out back and where the wiring was run, i got my truck without a radio, speakers, or a carpet. thin gray wires are audio, though. i seem to remember mine running to the pass side dash speaker, but whatever.

your fuze block looks more populated than mine. i recommend not touching it unless something doesn't work. adding fuzes to blank spaces can send power to wires that a PO cut. electrical fires aren't fun.

Cruise and Speedometer dont work. Ill look into the pink one.
Gray could be stereo im not worried about it. My new Headliner with the speakers should be here in a week or so.

Orange.... None of the overhead interior lights work so maybe ill try it.

 

[GMC Truck]

Check the grounds for the marker and turn signal for that side. GM had independant grounds for both sides. Pass side is most problematic cause that is the battery side and corrosion is a problem.
