1978Blazerk5 - available money or not, if you haven't seen one in person, it would be worth the drive over there just to see it. Most guys are always surprised how roomy these are inside, when you think they wouldn't be. Also, is the one you saw last April still around, that you could get photos of it?
Thunder - look for an email sent to your NVfishing site address. If the one near you has been out west most of its life, maybe it isn't suffering from the big terminal rust problem, and you don't need a better Blazer under the camper. For sheer "collector" value, that goes away when the Blazer or especially the Jimmy part gets separated from the camper. But the fiberglass campers always outlast any of the trucks when they've been rained, snowed & salted on for years. In that case, collector value is irrelevant and you have a nice situation where you could modernize the camper and plop it on a properly modded rust-free Blazer.
That's the double edge sword for these, they're rare enough to be worth collector money for pristine originals or Barrett-Jackson style restorations, if they get more publicity. For '76 & '77, there were only 225 GMC Jimmy Casa Grandes made, while there were 688 Blazer Chalets in 1976 and 867 in 1977.
