folks, possible dumb questions that already have the answers.

I have a small homemade trailer. It bounces all over the plave at 30mph +. The suspenion bushings are shot and the tires are mis-matched. 14" radials. Or could the axle be out of alignment? does it need shocks?

I know this won't help the proble but are these the possible causes? It a 4x7' trailer for mulch and rock. I really don't want to spend a ton of money on this. It's title so as spc construction, so I thougt I could alway's pick up another and transfer the title.

thanks

bob

Put new tires on it . Replace the bushings . If it takes shocks , then by all means replace them . You can't really begin to troubleshoot a rickety old anything until you get rid of the rickety .

And I agree it needs weight . Small trailers can bounce . Hell a rough road can make my pop up bounce a few feet of the ground if I go too fast , and it weighs 3000 pounds with the tank full .

if it does it with weight then I would geuss the axle is not positioned right to give you the tongue weight you need. with it being as small as it is I would have the axle as far back as possible.
