Does anyone have a write up or detailed pictures of where to place the hangers (front and rear)for the 62" rear spring swap for the k5? And can you keep the axle in the stock location or does it have to be moved as well?

Also, I noticed that, while I like the build and strength of DIY4x shackle flip, it doesnt look as if it is off-set like ORD's design. I know there is limited space for 62" springs in a k5, so I wanted to know if the few inches you get from switching the ORD hangers is necessary?

And about a 14bff rear...If I swap it out from a 3/4 ton, do I have to get a new driveshaft or modify it? Whats the cheapest way to deal with the u joint difference? A hybrid?

Thanks in advance.

You can move the hangers to keep the axle in the stock location and napa or any autoparts store will have a conversion ujoint for your stock driveshaft to fit the 3/4 ton rearend.

sorry man have no idea but i got a noob question myself. where would one get 62" springs? from the newer model trucks??

Sorry, Bro. That was a typo I didnt notice. It's the 88-98 64" GM Truck springs.

Come to think of it, 62 inches would fit better anyway, heh, go figure.

Thanks for the info about the U-joint. Seems easy enough. I hope.

I was measuring the Blazer yesterday, and it looks as if there is not enough room to move the shackles for the front rear hangers far enough forward to keep the axle in the stock location.

Since the 64's are 12 inches longer than stock, the shackles would have to be mounted 6 inches further apart on each side right?

It looks like t he front shackles would need to be halfway over the body mount thats there. Am I missing something?

Any help?
