So I went from a 700R4 With a NP241 and 10 bolt axle to a turbo 350 with a 205 and 12 bolt 8 7/8" as I'm sure some of you know cause I was having some speedo issues. But anyways When I was putting my back axle on my cousin seen that something was loose and began to tighten it and I didn't think much of it, turns out he was messing with my balancer and by the time I notice it was too late and he tightened it all the way for the most part. I have it balanced for the most part but still get some wobles. I'm a kind of the guy that wants to fix it himself instead of taking it to the driveline shop and paying like five bucks to have them do it. So I was wondering if there was a quick way to balance the axle other than hit and miss?

Secondly, my transfer case makes a funny noise thats hard to describe and the stick shakes and for the life of me I can't figure out what it might be and figured someone else might.

And lastly I know this sounds was dumb but I cant find where to check the fluids for my diferrential and transfer case and once again I was hoping someone could me out on thiss one too.

Thanks for all the help I know I'm going to get.

I'm confused by "balancer" that is adjustable. Probably need some clarification there. Only balancer I'm aware of is bolted to the front of the crankshaft, and it's not adjustable.

Fluids for the diff, assuming 12 and 10 are the same, is just above the "nose" on the passenger side. It's a pipe plug, 3/8" socket/extension fits right into it. 205 has a fill plug on the back, along with a drain plug. Both are tested on level ground. Fill until it spills out the same hole, and that's it. Personally as long as I can reach in with a finger and feel fluid, it's got enough.

Ditto, I'm also confused as it seems you are talking about some type of adjustable balancer on the driveshaft??

But he mentions axle, so yeah, I'm confused, and perhaps a reason there aren't more responses, because no one knows what he's talking about. :) Not because no one WANTS to help.

Only thing I could think of is the collar that threads on a slip shaft driveshaft :dunno: anything else it could be unless the yoke was loose

We could use just a little more info , perhaps a picture too .

Yeah, sorry most my posts I post are when I just got off work and I'm hella tired or when I just stepping out the door so if something doesn't sound right sorry. But yeah I meant the balancer on my driveline.

Well , driveshafts are balanced with welded on weight , usually square or round stock , some places even use different sized washers .

If something on the driveshaft can be tightened , I betcha its the nut that holds both sections together at the slip splines .

If your 205 is older , its a two piece driveshaft bolted onto transfercase and axle straps . Newer 205's use a driveshaft one piece that slides in the transfercase and only bolts on at the axle straps
