A local kid asked me....

....the other day if I would sell my K30 to him.

He promised not to make it a mud runner and not hack it up. He was looking for a 1 ton with a 454 and a nice body. He wanted to restore mine. I politely declined his offer and then counteroffered to him that I could help him look for a K30.

So, he wants something with the BBC and has to be a true 1 ton. The closer to Kansas the better. I told him I'd go anywhere for a real nice one, so lets hear what you guys know of and have seen that are for sale.

I do, too.

I know where theres a pristine '83 or '84 Silverado K30, black and charcoal, in mint condition, and its about 20 miles away. I've kept my mouth shut about this truck and nobody knows about it. It will be mine some day.

I'm just trying to help out the kid. Lots of guys here in my hometown want a K30 but every time they ask me about them, I ask them if they're aware of the gas mileage they get. Most say no. I'm just honest with them and explain to them how these trucks aren't exactly light in weight and the BBC's aren't exactly long distance runners.

But as for the pristine K30 I mentioned above, the kid will not find out about it. The day I see that truck here in town with a different owner will be the day I turn into the Incredible Hulk.
