hello to all
I am called feno, I am 27 years old
I am at Madagascar and I have just acquired a chevrolet blazer 4x4 year 1986 that the embassy of the united states put on sale lately.
The bodywork is impeccable but the motor begins to smoke.
I like it a lot this 4x4 but unfortunately, there is not like that vehicle in Madagascar and I don't have any documentation on this car.
I will like to have your help if you can give me any documentation file on this car.
Thank you for advance and excuse me for my English because adds us French-speaking

hello
a file in the PDF format or DOC or another one that contains all information on this car, especially on the motor, that I will be able to download.

Sorry Feno, but you will not find any such files.

However, maybe there is a french speaking individual on this forum who can translate better than the online translators do...

This site's members have all the info you could need about your K5's engine.

Thank you
Now, I project to repair the motor but I am not sure to find the necessary pieces here. I think about adaptations, is this possible.

If it's a diesel, the US Army has lots of documentation about service, which I have copies of on my Brochures page @ http://brochures.slosh.com

If it's gas, you'd need a service manual, very common here in the US and a bit harder to find overseas :)

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=CHI&mfrpartnumber=28622&parttype=626&ptset=A

There's a couple examples.

Oh, and the smoking may be not be as bad as you think -- the gas motors have valve seals that go bad, as I recall, and have blue smoke at startup. If you can tell us what color smoke comes out and when -- just at startup? all the time? -- we can tell you more about what it means. (White smoke is usually bad, as it means that the antifreeze is making its way into the engine and being burnt, for instance.)

I have no idea of it but I think to take a photo or to take the references on the gray card and to display it on this forum if it is possible. It is diesel and has 8 cylinders. I like this group of rock, my father has their disk and I often listened it when I was again a little boy.

Ah, you have a 6.2 Diesel :) What color is the smoke coming from the engine, and when?

it is black and it is permanent
there are also flights of oils to the cover

I finished the downloadings and the documents are good and complete
thank you very much.
I have only to try to translate them and to understand them but I already begin to understand something

Black smoke is diesel fuel that did not get burnt. Your Injection Pump may be out of adjustment. Leaking oil is also common. You may need to order some new gaskets from the US or Canada

The US Army is nothing but thorough :)

As for parts, check out http://www.lmctruck.com. You'll need to order a catalog from them, but the catalog has lots of pictures in it, which for those of us who don't know what parts are called is very handy (and that's not about your English ... often *I* don't know what the parts are, so their pictures are very useful! :) )

Once you have a catalog, you can order parts over the web from them. Even if you don't order from them, the catalog is a reference for what parts are called what :)
