I've just bought another truck. Driving it home I noticed a lot of wind noise, and my hand getting wet! I don't know how the heck I missed it but there was a half inch hole drilled clean through the A pillar and inner trim, exiting about 4 inches above the dash.
I'm guessing someone fitted, or was trying to fit one of those spot lamps you see on the A pillar. Does anyone have one fitted or know a) how they fit, b) where can I get one?

Any info or photos of ones fitted would be appreciated.

I know those don't help you know which one to get or anything, but those are just some of the links I got when I searched "police spotlight" on Google.

Unity are about the best quality ones I have seen. The LED models are a spot light, and by spot light I mean absolutely no peripheral beam. The halogen are much better in my opinion.

I can post some pics of them installed on Wednesday night.

A pic from inside and out would be appreciated, thanks.

At work we have a few old CPO trucks, and they all have Unity spotlights, they kick some ass.

I put one on my 87 Blazer. I got the bracket from NAPA and I am trying to find a digital picture of it. Here are some of my archive pictures of trucks with spots. The hot wire I ran through the gap at dash and pillar down to the battery plug on fuse box but you can do it to the ing one. I had a 20 amp in line fuse for extra protection.

Briefly going back to what I was saying about the LED spotlights not having a peripheral beam, here is about 30 yards.

And here is about 60 yards

The pictures don't really do justice to how bright they are, but because of the lack of a peripheral beam, I am not a huge fan of them.

That's great, thanks for your efforts. I see what you mean about that beam though! I'll be putting a complete set up on my shopping list!
