Since I have had no luck selling my 1 ton, I have been doing some thinking(and yes it hurts). Should I swap the built dana 44 out of the blazer for the stockish dana 60 out of the 1 ton? The 44 has chromo shafts, ctm joints,a detroit, gears, and slugs instead of hubs. The 60 is basicly stock with warn premiums, new u-joints, and a new yoke. So, what be the tally? yay or nay? Currently run 38" boggers, when I wear these three sets out I will be going bigger!

A stock 60 is better than a built Dana 44 anyday, what size tire?? I'd say if its under 37" then maybe keep the dana 44 but ...........ah what am i saying 60 is the way to go if you already have it. sell the 44 to a jeep guy

Well since your already got 38" boggers lol and you plan on bigger I'd say you need to start thinking about a 60 swap lol

if i had the 60 id put in the 60.since i have a 44 i need what you have in yours.how much did the shafts and joints run ya in the 44?if you are planning on bigger tires, you will need the 60 eventually anyway.just put the 44 back under the other truck or sell off the parts and call it a day.

Well, I think I've figured out what I am going to do. The guy that wants the truck just wants something he can "take in the hills". I asked a friend if he would be interested in the dana 44, he said "Does a wooden horse have a hickory d*ck?"! He is going to trade me a ten bolt 3/4 ton front and a rebuilt th400 with a 208 hanging off the back of it for the 44. He even said he would do all the labor!

So my plan is this,
Take the 60 and x-over stuff out of the 1 ton.
Take the 44 and stock steering stuff out of the blazer.
Put the 10 bolt and stock steering stuff in the 1 ton, making it a 3/4t with a 1t badge. Sell the truck to the guy.
Put the 60 and x-over stuff in the blazer, and eventually down the road the th400 also.
Sell the 208.

I think my bud can help and buy all the beer instead of doing it all himself, then we all win;). Does it sound like a good plan to you guys?

anytime your plan consists of putting a 60 in a truck with big tires it sounds like a good plan to me

I personally think your buddy is getting a helluva deal. But you are getting what you need and want too so everyone comes out good.

Good Plan

nice price.seeing as how you got the upgraded axle with atruck attached for less than what the axle parts costed.lol:eek1:guess im gonna have to start saving up.sounds like a good weekend swap you guys have planned.

You'll never regret going to the D60. First time you break the D44 you'd have regrets for not going to the D60. Stick with doing the 60 swap like you are planning. :waytogo:

does the 3/4 ton have the same r/p ratio as the 14bolt in the 1-ton or are you going to screw the guy who wants the truck, because thats why I have my vehicle problems because the op slapped the vehicle together

Come on man!! Do you really think a ck5'r/experienced wheeler would do something like that? I want to get rid if the truck, but I am not going to "screw" anyone. I admit that the 10bolt is small for that size of tire, but the dude just wants something he can drive over the camping loop in the summertime. Believe me I would rather sell it to someone that is going to use it, but as we all know money talks and B.S. walks.
