A simple NP205 & NP208 Question

Whats the difference between an NP205 and NP208? I have an NP208 hooked to my 700R4, and I was wondering if I would gain anything to go to the NP205? Also can I swap an NP208 to a NP205?? I was also looking at the LowMax 3.1 205 T-case.

205 is cast iron the 208 is aluminum. 208 is chain drive 205 is gear drive. A 205 will handle all the horsepower most could put to it while the 208 is far from bullet proof. Your swap would not be the most easy but would be well worth it. 205 is the way to go but a 208 would be ok for most weekend wheelers.
