so i guess this will be my small build thread.

i'm starting with an '82 k20 diesel. i have the axles out of a 76 k20 as well, so that means 14bff and a d44.

i have the d44 and 14bff in my garage at home, working on them. the 14bff is almost complete, i'm just painting up the diff cover and i need to bolt up the axleshafts and do brake lines and it'll be as done as i need it to be for now.

my plan is to run 35" tires, BFG AT's. this will be my weekend warrior, and if i decide that it's reliable enough, i'll turn it into my daily for some time.

i would like to build a tube bed as well, already ditched the stepside that was on it.

i also ordered a 6" lift with blocks and 2" add-a-leaf, as well as a 4" shackle flip.

with my shackle flip, i got 6" shackles and 6" USDR(?) shackles. but one of the normal shackles in missing....bummer, guess i'll just contact diy4x soon.

also, my brother and i want to tube the front end and chop the rockers.

this is my first truck, and we are trying to go all out, mostly to learn. speaking of which, anyone want to teach me to weld?

Right on...

Welding is more than just having someone teach you... Most of it is just putting time in behind the mask... You'll learn along the way... A lot of things that welders will talk about and try to teach, you usually wont understand until you have some experience... It's not hard, it just takes practice...

Good luck with the build and have fun...
