I have what must seem like a stupid question, how do these mirrors come off? I see three sheet metal screws coming through the inside or the door, but how do I get to the heads of these bolts?

I bought some new mirrors yesterday at the junkyard, the smaller tri-pod mirrors from the older Chevy's. And there CHROME! Not spoiled milk white!

there is a screw on the bottom of that painted cover, remove screw, wiggle the bottom of cover out from the door and up on the mirror tube

Thanks, aren't torx head screws fun?

Something I should have remembered, this truck is actually dark blue, and still is under the mirrors.

And the truck had been painted twice, once desert tan, and then white.

It originally was dark blue with a white top, then it was all tan, top, mirrors, etc, all tan. then white, and still it.

I'll go by Farm and Home tomorrow and get some crappy flat white to cover up that factory GM color.
