Well first Im layed off from work, so I have plenty of time to mess around with my junk. Anyways I just finished slapping it back together after finally painting it... Well for the past 5 or so years I have been driving it without paint, or the cowling piece around the wiper stub things. Brilliant I know but I digress, So I was washing out the cowling to put the plastic grill and metal piece back on, and noticed water was not coming out of anywhere, it was just filling up  , then water was running out of my doors, nice on the new carpet. So i started digging out the drip vents in the fenders, pulling out 5 or so years of leaves, mud, screws, various bit tips and a bic lighter which still works, Im assuming this is tough with uncut fenders with wheelwells... So a thought for all you is to check that vent on both sides, because when water cant excape from it it instead runs into the rockerpanel along that fancy aluminum foot catcher dealy and puddles in the seals, probably causing the rusting problems some of us have. So maybe run a hose for awhile occasionally into the cowling to keep it from clogging up, might save you some heartache in the future...

I dont doubt that can lead to severe rusting...I've had maple trees sprout out of the cowl area on my pickup after those "helicoptor" seeds ended up down in that hidden area before!...and I had the screen intact too....leaves and dirt collecting in the lower front fender corners are why most trucks here have big rot holes there, and somtimes the door hinge area rots away from the rest of the cab too,as a result..

I cant post pics, BUT they are about 5in above the bottom fender bolt, Actually in the cab itself, not the fender. I have way hacked up fenders and no wheelwells so they were basically poking me in the eyeballs, Im not sure how or if you can get to them with it in a stockish configuration, my brother is asleep and he has a Sub like mine and i can check when he wakes his lazy a$$ up. I dug around in them damn things for an hr before I remembered i had an old toilet snake in the garage, and cleaned it out like an old pooper. Now its like Niagara Falls with the hose in there, but now the wipers dont work, figures :haha:
