I was just looking on some insite on a 1995 454 2500 suburbans.

What do you guys think about them?

I know gas is crazy but I dont care about gas prices.

Also I would like any insite on a solid axle swap and lift kits.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with them, but they're not really any different than any other burban of the same era, just a lot more power than most. A guy I worked with had a '94 with a crapload of miles on it and it was holding up just fine, other than some rust and that stupid thermal doohicky in the front diff.

That's how the 4wd engages on the ifs trucks... there is a mechanical cable you can replace it with that solves the issue.

Kool good to hear. the guy only wants 1500 for it and she is in really good shape.

my first job will be solid axle swap

Might want to drive it for a while and see how you want to use it... as soon as I bought my k3500 the first thought for me was SAS time! BUT... the ifs isn't all that bad and it rides GREAT.
Granted down the road when I have it paid off and I go to lift it I'll SAS it since ifs lift kits are a joke when it comes to price.... but like I said just drive it for a while and think on it.

Isn't '96 the start of the Vortec's? Even so I have a 454 in my k3500 and besides sucking gas it's not bad... It's no diesel so don't kid yourself but it'll get the job done with the right gearing.
