I saw something like this on a rear axle on another site where they were installing a 4 link. It was to connect the 2 top trailing arms to.
I liked the way it looked and had some steel laying around.
I was getting ready to install my ladder bar setup and thought this might keep the axle tubes from turning in the diff, cause I was reading about everybody welding their tubes to the diff. I didn't want to try that and have the welds crack, cause I don't have a torch to preheat it.
If anything, it looks good.
Here are a couple pics.

Cool project, but unless I'm missing something it doesn't look like it will stop the center section from rotating relative to the axletubes?? :dunno:

It will keep the two axletubes locked together, but what's to stop the center from moving? I think it needs to have an additional piece that either connects to a "rock ring" on the diff cover, or something that is secured to the front pinion area.... one way or another you need to lock the tubes and the pumpkin to the same part.

Agreed, perhaps a thick cover with a bolt on bracket to the truss.

should look like this

what the F is that hose clamp doing on the drivers side where the axle tube connects to the center section?

That's what I thought, it looks good.
I just finished this truck this year, it is my hunting, camping, street driven vehicle. I figured with both tubes tied together the housing would not be able to turn, not with how I drive. Just that every one was saying with a ladder bar setup you could shear the plug welds and turn a tube. I didn't want that to happen.
I still need to get the 4.56's put in the front, but not till I get a tru trac to go with it. The only time I ever get into any kind rough wheelin is when I go to Montana hunting.

Just so you know, the tubes can still spin with a truss. The truss forces both tubes to spin at once but I've still seen it happen a couple times.

Don't get me wrong, the truss is a great addition but I'd still weld the tubes to the center section.
