was driving my 07 silverado classic down the road yesterday and the ABS light came on and the parking brake light. did the whole beep beep beep for like 30 secs and stayed on til i got home. shut the truck off and turned it back on and the lights were out. then about 200 feet down the road it came back on. everytime i shut the truck off and turn it back on the lights go out and then come back on down the road.

I checked for codes, and it was fine. I checked all my brakes for thin pads and for leaking lines and ripped off lines and nothing everything looks normal.

the only warning i got before this was when i would slow down to a stop when i hit about 30 it would anti lock the brakes. and then again at 10mph. then about 10 mins later is when the light came on.

any ideas

I don't know if this is that same for the 07's or not, but GM trucks had a problem with corrosion under the front wheel speed sensors. Not in the hole but on top where the bolt holds it in. You have to clean the metal surface on the hub and make sure nothing falls in the hole. Put it back together and all should be good.

What happens is the sensor gets pulled away from the ring inside the bearing and gets all confused. It only takes a little bit of corrosion to do it.

Like I said I am not sure if this is the same on the newer trucks, but I have had this occur quite a few times at work.

I take it you are using a quality scanner to check for those codes. I have a snap on solus as well as a launch brand. 99 times out of a 100 my cheapie launch wont read anything but codes from pcm .

sounds like a wheel speed sensor droping out and not reading.

will need a decent scanner to watch abs live data and see what one is not working as you have someone drive it and come to a stop.

and fyi if abs system has problem then light will come on. AND brake light will come on also. and some vehicles with traction control will have the trac off light on as it runs off abs feeds.
