I'm thinking about doing a SAS on my 96 GMC Sonoma 4x4. My question is, what does it take to completely remove the ABS system? I figured i'd get started on the project and remove the ABS before i do the SAS. I use the truck as a DD so if i can do a little at a time and not have it down much while converting it that would be great. Thanks, Jason

I would think you could just grab the proportioning/combo valve out of a non-abs truck, and plumb it in the way it was. Then pull out the computer and the other crap that goes with it. Also, what do you plan on doing for your SAS? There's a new company in the works that will be making a kit, just so you know. I don't think there's any others out there, so it's an option for you if you want something bolt on. Would probably save a lot of time under the knife, which is always good with a DD. The kit is designed for 1st gens, but he's looking into 2nd gen compatibility and will probably be producing those as well. They should start making them pretty soon...

Thanks, It looks like it should be a good kit. Are they a new company? I've never heard of them and the site isn't complete yet. I've got a front spring crossmember from sky and 6" TC springs for it. I have to make or buy some mounts for the back of the front spring under the doors. I'm going to get started on removing the ABS this week, i don't think it will be to bad. Thanks again, Jason

its my company, and we are very new. so new that the site is still not fully operational. the kit should be on the market in late spring/early summer depending on how things go.
